Actual life
- Life feels pretty good. Doris was off work this weekend. We watched League of Their Own which is so good (I think we're on ep 6). She made zucchini fritters, zucchini chocolate muffins, rye bread, bean and potato soup, and watermelon water. She also popped pop corn for us to have while watching A League of Their Own
- I'm sad that Scrabble with Ann is rained/flooded out, but there's always next weekend.
- Also, next weekend's plans are coming together. I am going to canvas for Lauren Underwood on Saturday, then go to Doris's mom's place to see Angie, who will be in town. Then Sunday will be the rescheduled Scrabble date
Fandom
- One of my favorite Spartacus actors, Antonio, got a role in the new LOTR Rings of Power!! It's actually a decent role, though his character's only name is "Sail Master". :) But he has like 7 or 8 lines and he's not a bad guy and he looks damn good. YES!!
- And I mentioned a FB group for the 100 that did a best non-romantic duos competition? Where each day, one duo is eliminated? Sinclair and Raven WON!!! At first I thought maybe it's just because Raven is so popular. But Raven/Murphy and Raven/Luna were also options, and they went down. Sinclair IS popular with fans! Six years after his character was killed off, after being in only 20 episodes. They beat out so many others who had longer, more recent interactions like Octavia/Diyoza.
- The fanfic writing has been SO good!! A reviewer mentioned that I haven't said much about Miller's ex Bryan. So I got inspired and wrote a whole chapter/companion piece. And I loved it. The same reviewer sent me some ideas for things she wants to see in sex scenes, so she's getting that too. Man it is the best when someone is really engaged with your piece!!

That is good when people are engaging with a fic. I would have a very different reaction to getting comments like that on my fics though.
Actually, can I get your opinion about something? A commenter asked if I would be interested in writing a fic featuring two characters as a ship, when they're just friends in the fic I'm still posting. I assumed this person had a story already in mind and was looking for a writing partner, so I responded by saying, "Sorry, I can't write with a partner. Good luck finding one though!"
Now, I'm wondering if they were making a request. Because. Well, the answer still would've been "No," I don't take requests, I write fics to silence my existing plot bunnies, I can't take on someone else's. But, is that a thing in the fanfic community? I guess it depends on the fandom, but I haven't had that happen before.

Me, I am so eager (uh, desperate?) for interaction with my fics and feedback on my writing, I guess that's why I've always been open to it. But I don't know if this is a common thing or not.

I know how much you love it when someone is really interacting with your writing, so this is great! Do you get many requests?

Date: 2022-09-13 11:05 am (UTC)The idea of getting Disney so we can see all those popular shows like She-Hulk is still on the table. Eric shared his Hulu with us, so we got a whole new world opening up there!
I don't get a ton of requests, no. I think only the actually popular writers get that. :) But when I write Mackson, there are usually 2 people who read and comment, one of whom has been doing that for a while - and she sometimes makes requests. Which I love.
