Random gratitude

stormkeeper_lovedoris- Ann and I had been talking about how I might want to celebrate my 50th birthday this year. No ideas were coming up. But...I chatted with Laurie, who is also turning 50 and who lives in Florida. We'd talked about St Augustine, FL earlier. She said it has a nice combo of history and beaches. So it looks like girls' weekend in St Augustine! (In September. Not now)
- Got to have lunch with my old friend Stan who I hadn't seen in, oh, 20-25 years or so
- Our company does an annual Employee Appreciation Day. We got Friday off, which was great. Told myself I'd clean the house from top to bottom. Didn't....quite do that, though I did some cleaning. And watched a lot of Canada Drag Race.
- Today is a beautiful, sunny, not-cold Saturday. Doris is working. I decided to drive to a restaurant we love, one that doesn't do delivery. Got us some takeout!
- Gratitude for co-watching Ghosts on Discord with my fandom friend Guggi (She doesn't have access to it, so I livestream it to her)
- Last week I was in a 3-day training session on Strategic Leadership. It was actually awesome and I learned a ton. Also, this guy Casey was there. I love Casey and he's leaving the company because his husband got a job in London. I was so glad I got to spend some time with him before he went. (He's also really beautiful, but I know it's weird to say that about a soon-to-be-former coworker)
Fandom stuff ahead!
- A few days ago, Sachin messaged me on Cameo. I had messaged him to tell him how well his advice worked, regarding my talk with my boss. He said he'd logged into Cameo specifically for an update on that!! (And also, he said other nice things too)
- On Tumblr, sometimes I message with this person F. She likes Alessandro too, especially his role in BSG. I mentioned that I've had this fic in my head for a while, one where X-men's Bobby is shipped with BSG's Felix. She told me to go for it and that she'd read it!

Oooh, let me know if you finish that fic! I know nothing about BSG but I do like Bobby!

Date: 2023-03-06 06:58 pm (UTC)I know!! Maybe it was just better when our parents were planning everything. Skating rink + pizza + sleepover = DONE. Although I am thinking of going to a theme park again. Just seeing if I can convince anyone to come with me.
Honestly I should watch BSG. It seems like the kind of thing I'd enjoy. One binge-watch at a time!

It's always a bummer when people you like leave, boo! A person on my strategic plan team recently left and I didn't know until I saw the announcement on LinkedIn! Hilariously, my first thought was 'geez, that job sounds time consuming, how is she going to do that and keep working full time for us?'
Really sweet about Sachin following up for an update! So nice!
