Random gratitude

- Taking a moment to note that after a ton of walking in Wisconsin - including lots of going up and down hills - my calves hurt that evening and the next morning. But they were fine a day or so later. Amazed that my body can bounce back so well.

- Going into the office and seeing lots of PRIDE flags. (Which is especially nice given that LGBTQ groups have issued a state of emergency in this country)

- Last Saturday and this past Saturday got to go to the farmer's market

- Ann brought me diet Dr Pepper!! Thank you, Ann!

- Loving my new sandals. Ordered 2 pairs and both are great.

- On Friday, Doris and I had a picnic at the botanic gardens. It was awesome

- There's a candy store in downtown OP. It also has 6 types of ice cream and one of them is vegan!! The guy who might be the owner was there and he said he felt it was important to offer a vegan option even though he has very little space for ice cream. There were also a ton of other vegan goodies there. It is nice to be able to go somewhere and walk out like everyone else with a scoop of ice cream on a cone (instead of like the packaged vegan ice cream at groceries stores)

- And got a nice note (email) from our neighbor

- Nothing much in the fandom realm except that I posted a new chapter of my fic 3 hours ago and already got 2 new comments. And this fic looks almost guaranteed to make it to 100 kudos. (It's at 93 now and was at 88 before I posted the new chapter)

Yay for an office decked out in Pride flags!! Is it the whole country that's under a state of emergency right now? I know the ACLU had issued a travel advisory for specific places, like Texas and Florida.

Glad you found a place with vegan goodies! We have a lot of ice cream places around here, and almost all of them have vegan options now. I'm not vegan myself, but I'm glad they're out there!

I need to get some new supportive shoes but I hate shopping for them so much and I hate having to have stuff shipped to me and return them, but those are the only two options for getting shoes unless they just magically appear on my feet, fitting perfectly. Boo.

Hooray for a nice picnic! And so nice that you could get vegan ice cream, awesome! I feel like I see more options just in the last year or so than I did even just pre-covid. It probably doesn't feel like there's a ton more options, but Rollin and I are always pointing them out to each other when we see them.

I definitely think the wildfires affect us. I have a coworker in Virginia, nowhere near that horrible haze we saw pics of, but she said she had terrible headaches.

Glad Rollin's workplace embraced the PRIDE flags too. I keep meaning to mention that one of the main bad guys in Shadow and Bone is named Pekka Rollins. He's in my latest fanfic which means I am always writing "Rollins".

Yes absolutely there are way more options and better options than there were even 3 or 4 years ago.
